   We've seen those darling little carolers and some of us collect them.  Guess what?!  They've just introduced a Red Hatter doll and we'll be some of the first to purchase them.

Join us for a fun-filled bus trip, leaving from Annandale, and traveling to the Byers Choice Factory in Chalfont, PA.  The store  graciously invited we Red Hatters to join their Collectors Club for the bus trip to see the complete Byers Choice factory.  

We'll leave Annandale around 7:00 AM, with our first stop at the Byers Choice Factory around 10:00 AM.  Then lunch will be at the Peddler's Village nearby, where our TEA group will meet with a local PA chapter for fun and friendship.  The bus departs Peddler's Village around 3:00 PM for the drive back to Annandale.

Deck yourself out in your prettiest red and purple and join us for a wonderful afternoon sailing on the Potomac River.  We'll enjoy terrific food and fun with Red Hat friends, view historic monuments and enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms as we sail aboard the Odyssey III.  We'll sail rain or shine, since the boat is enclosed and heated.

Join your Red Hat sisters for a peaceful stroll through the lovely grounds of the Meadowlark Gardens, just outside of Vienna.  We'll have a guided, narrated tour to enjoy all that spring in Virginia brings us.  

After our tour, we'll drive to The Cheesecake Factory in Tyson's Corner to enjoy lunch. Maybe, after lunch, we'll stroll through Tyson's, just for the fun of it.

  
Carpooling:  We'll leave promptly at 9:45 AM from the Vienna Presbyterian Church.  Please let me know if you'll be a rider or a driver.
      
Luncheon:  Lunch at The Cheesecake Factory, Tyson's Corner (sorry, no separate checks this time)
    
Activities: View the lovely gardens, gazebos, lake, and specialized plantings while just enjoying the beauty of nature.
    
Attire:   We'll be decked out in our lovely purple and red colors.  Since there's substantial walking involved, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

Boyd's Bear House Shopping & Tea at Civil-la-Tea or Lunch at Gingerbread Man

Start your spring shopping early at the Boyd's Bear House in PA.  We've been invited
 to enjoy a 4-hour tour of their facility, along with lots of time to shop, shop, shop
for those precious bears including their special Red Hat lady.  

Following the tour, we'll enjoy some relaxing time at either Civil-la-Tea, a darling tea house in Gettysburg, or at The Gingerbread Man, a quaint restaurant nearby.

 

Carpooling:  We'll leave promptly at 8:00 AM from the Vienna Presbyterian Church
      
Tea or Luncheon:  Civil-la-Tea can only accommodate 17 of us, so the first 17 ladies who send in their registration and check, will have tea.  
Cost = $22.

Other registrants will have lunch at The Gingerbread Man, a quaint little restaurant in Gettysburg.  
Cost = your own luncheon check.
  

Activities: A four-hour tour of the Boyd's Bear Factory and Museum, shopping at the Boyd's Bear Store, and either tea at Civil-la-Tea
 or luncheon at The Gingerbread Man.
   
Cost:  Only $22/person for the first 17 Red and Pink Hatters to 
sign up and send in your check.

Located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Long Branch is one of the 
most elegant and historic manor homes in the Virginia Hunt country.  
Since the early 18th century, the estate has been owned by a series of 
famous men - Lord Culpeper, Lord Fairfax, and Robert "King" Carter.

     Walk (or ride) in the Vienna Halloween Parade
Vienna, VA
  
Queen Shirley invites everyone to 'strut our stuff' in our wildest red and purple (flat shoes too!) to walk in the Halloween Parade in Vienna.  The walk is about 1/2 mile and the entire parade lasts about 1-1/2 hours. The theme this year is “Vienna - A Community Portrait.”  Soup and sandwiches first at a local restaurant.

Wednesday, November 10th, arrival at the Cathedral NLT 1:30 PM, carpooling:  


National Cathedral Guided Tour and Tea

This is a wonderful tea and tour of a Washington, DC national treasure.  The Cathedral Heights Tour begins promptly at 1:45 PM and will last one hour.    Following the tour, tea will be served in the Cathedral Tower Gallery, which has a scenic view of the city.   Be sure to wear our gorgeous red and purple, and really comfortable shoes for all of the walking.

Photography is permitted in the Cathedral, except during services, so carry a camera if you'd like some lovely photographs.  And, if you have binoculars, bring them along, since they're helpful for certain tour topics.

The lovely Herb Cottage Gift Shop is open daily from 10-5 p.m.  Tour and Tea guests (that's us!) receive a 15% discount on the day of the tour.  Also, the Museum and Book Shop (in the lower level of the Cathedral) and the Greenhouse offer a 10% discount. 

Reservations are confirmed for 25 only - so please sign up early if you wish to attend.  If there is a high level of response, Mary may be able to secure additional spaces.   

Limited parking is available on the Cathedral grounds, with there is handicapped parking on North Road where there is an entrance with a ramp.
